Concerning Brazilians: Can I be waxed if I am pregnant?

   Yes, we can wax you while you are pregnant. Please also take note that your skin will be more sensitive. Please make sure to inform your wax specialist prior to the service and they will proceed with extra gentle care.

Certain medications can thin out skin or cause skin to pull during the waxing service. (Retinol/Retinoids).  Please make your wax specialist aware of any medications. Ask a doctor if you have any questions or concerns.

Ask your doctor. We usually recommend waiting 6 weeks.

If skin has any open wound or lesion or any irritation such as a sunburn it cannot be waxed.  You must wait until it heals to wax or avoid the areas where skin irritation is present. We can avoid certain areas if needed to complete the rest of the service.

Loose soft clothing is best.  Avoid tight fitting clothing such as leggings and abrasive fabrics such as lace on the underwear. Some guests prefer to bring a fresh undergarment to wear after their service.

It is best to wait a few days after waxing before exposing the waxed areas to sun as they may burn more easily.

It is best to wait 24 hours before applying deodorant as it may clog pores. 

For at least 48hrs, Avoid submerging your body in water (pool, hot tub, etc), getting direct sunlight, anything that causes friction including, sexual intercourse and exercise. Avoid exfoliating for a few days after your wax.

Age requirements: Parent/Legal Guardian consent for under 18 years old. Form may be signed within the guests’ profile. The parents/Legal Guardian does not need to accompany their children over 16 years old. All Guests must be able to comprehend/understand their consent and be able to sign their own name.

At iWAXu we use a completely different technique with  hypoallergenic elastic wax which prevents irritation.  iWAXu’s elastic wax technique is less painful because it doesn’t adhere to the skin and the hair is extracted by the root rather than sugar wax and soft wax that adhere to the end of the hair.
